Privacy
Steep News, operated by Steep Technologies, keeps the bare minimum of data needed to run the site. We do not sell your data and we do not run third-party ad tracking. This notice supplements the Steep Privacy Policy and meets KVKK No. 6698 and the GDPR. A Turkish-language text is available at /kvkk.
What we collect
If you sign in, your account is managed through Steep Account — username, email, avatar. Standard server logs may record IP address, user agent, and request time for security and abuse prevention. Reading the news does not require an account.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set by us.
AI-generated summaries
Some articles are summarized with AI from their original sources and labelled accordingly. These summaries are about the news, not about you — we do not profile readers.
Third parties
News images and content come from their original publishers. When you click Read original, you leave Steep News and the publisher's privacy policy applies. We use Cloudflare for delivery and security. Some providers may process data outside Türkiye/the EEA (including the US) under appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Retention
Server logs are kept for a limited period. If you have an account and request deletion, your personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Your rights (KVKK & GDPR)
- Request a copy of the data we hold on you (access & portability).
- Ask us to correct, restrict, or delete it, and object to processing.
- Sign out at any time to end your session.
To exercise these rights, contact us below; we respond within 30 days. You may also complain to the Turkish Data Protection Authority (KVKK Kurumu) or your local EU supervisory authority. Steep News is not intended for children under 13.
